Unshaken

Another hand shook me hard, just broke me like a postcard,
The words flipped like coins in the dark,
Warmth one day, chills the next,
Their truths changed with their comfort.

Not every smile carries shelter I realised,
The world is full of turncoats, it's difficult to survive,
Your heart generally surrenders to love n care,
People who guard the surrender though are very rare.

But I gather myself piece by piece,
I'll re-build my soul & not let the damage increase.
I choose the hands that don't hesitate, one's that don't tremble,
I'll walk with one where loyalty isn't seasonal.

Every wound made me wiser that I could feel,
Every loss i incurred became a teaching that helps me heal,
Now I rise with edges unbreakable like steel,
The best in me is now ready to reveal.
